ℹ️ How does BECE Stanine Grading work?

Stanine grading does not look at a fixed score cutoff at all. Instead, for every subject, it ranks students against their own classmates and gives out Grades 1–9 by position in the class — this mirrors how the actual New BECE grades candidates nationally.

Step by step, for each subject:

Percentile bands (measured from the top of the class):

Grade	Class Percentile (from top)	Meaning
1	0 – 4%	Highest performers
2	above 4 – 11%	Higher
3	above 11 – 23%	High
4	above 23 – 40%	High Average
5	above 40 – 60%	Average (middle of the class)
6	above 60 – 77%	Low Average
7	above 77 – 89%	Low
8	above 89 – 96%	Lower
9	above 96 – 100%	Lowest performers

Good to know:
• A student's Stanine grade in Math has nothing to do with their grade in English — each subject is ranked separately within the class.
• Since it's based on rank, a student's grade can shift between terms even with the same raw score, if the rest of the class performs differently.
• Stanine grading needs at least a handful of students with scores entered for that class/subject/term to be meaningful — very small classes will see wide swings between grades for small score differences.
• The colors, letters, and remarks (Excellent, Very Good, Credit, etc.) shown on report cards are the exact same set used in Absolute mode above — only which band a student falls into changes.

🪄 Auto-Generate ALL Timetables

Builds a fresh weekly timetable for every class (Nursery 1 → JHS 3) in one go. A teacher only ever appears on the classes they were actually given in Assign Classes (e.g. a teacher assigned JHS 1–3 is used across all three, but never on a class they weren't assigned to), matched to the subjects they're set up to teach, and never double-booked across two classes at the same day & period. Saves everything as a draft — review each class and hit Publish yourself.
